Brazilian superstar Neymar made his return from injury as Paris Saint Germain (PSG) sealed a 3-1 win over Nantes at home in the French Ligue 1 to consolidate their place at the top of the log. PSG had to play the final quarter of the game with ten men after the red card to goalkeeper KeylorNavas, but they were still able to score two late goals to win the game thanks to the brilliance of summer signing Lionel Messi.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino was able to welcome Neymar back from the aforementioned thigh issue and he was part of a star-studded attacking trio alongside the great Lionel Messi and KylianMbappe.
Mbappegave PSG an early lead off the assist from Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes. His second minute strike gave PSG a slim advantage at the break and they were not in danger of relinquishing their lead until the red card to Costa Rican national team shot stopper Navas on 65 minutes. Three minutes later, PSG brought on substitute goalkeeper Sergio Rico in the place of Neymar.
Visitors Nantes made their numerical advantage count with the equaliserfrom Randal KoloMuani on 76 minutes. However, it took the ten men of PSG five minutes to retake the lead when a throughball meant for Spanish left-back Juan Bernat from Messi was diverted into the Nantes goal by defender Dennis Appiah. Messi then wrap up the win six minutes later with his first strike in the league. He had previously scored three times for PSG in the Champions League since his free transfer move in the summer.
