Neymar missed the final World Cup 2022 qualifier at arch rivals Argentina last week due to a thigh problem. He was a big miss for Brazil who were able to secure a goalless draw to preserve their unbeaten run in the qualifiers from the South American region. Argentina and Brazil are the only unbeaten teams in the South American region ahead of the World Cup 2022 tournament in Qatar.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino was able to welcome Neymar back from the aforementioned thigh issue and he was part of a star-studded attacking trio alongside the great Lionel Messi and KylianMbappe.

Mbappegave PSG an early lead off the assist from Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes. His second minute strike gave PSG a slim advantage at the break and they were not in danger of relinquishing their lead until the red card to Costa Rican national team shot stopper Navas on 65 minutes. Three minutes later, PSG brought on substitute goalkeeper Sergio Rico in the place of Neymar.

Visitors Nantes made their numerical advantage count with the equaliserfrom Randal KoloMuani on 76 minutes. However, it took the ten men of PSG five minutes to retake the lead when a throughball meant for Spanish left-back Juan Bernat from Messi was diverted into the Nantes goal by defender Dennis Appiah. Messi then wrap up the win six minutes later with his first strike in the league. He had previously scored three times for PSG in the Champions League since his free transfer move in the summer.
