NEYMAR IS THE WORLD MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

Barcelona playmaker Neymar has been named the most valuable player in the world, according to a report by CIES Football Observatory.

The 25-year old ranked higher than clubmate Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and Harry Kane.

The research considered several factors such as contract with present club and the status of the club, age, international status, appeal and marketability et al. The study looked at the most desirable players in the top leagues in Europe. Players valued at over £40 million were considered.

Tottenham Hotspur duo of Harry Kane and Dele Alli ranked high on the list due to their impressive results posted for club and country. Alli is the second most valuable, and it is logical considering his age, achievements already and potential. He is estimated to be worth £137 million while his teammate Kane would be around £135 especially if he gets the Three Lions captaincy armband on a permanent basis.

PSG had looked at luring Neymar last year with around £150 million. This report claims the Brazilian is worth around £35 million more than the French giant’s estimation. His teammate Messi is valued at £134 million even though the Argentine is not likely to exit the Nou Camp in his prime. Continue reading “NEYMAR IS THE WORLD MOST VALUABLE PLAYER”

BARCELONA THRASH EIBAR 4-0

Barcelona defeated opponents Eibar 4-0 in the La Liga last week to keep up the pressure on Real Madrid who seem not as confident after ending their unbeaten run.

The famed MSN Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar did the required. Denis Suarez joined the trio on the score sheet as the Spanish outfit eased to a comfortable win over their opponents.

Barca lost something in the process of completing their 4-0 rout over their hosts. Sergio Busquets was pulled put ten minutes into the affair. Gonzalo Escalante forced the player out, leaving him with a terrible ankle injury.

The visitors started the game slowly with Andres Iniesta and Busquets not giving them their usual advantage. Eibar played high pressing football but could not create good chances. Suarez had a chance to ease the pressure when Messi sent the ball but he lost it.

It took a while for them to settle and Dennis broke the deadlock when he scored from 25 yards in the 31st minute. Neymar got his chance but lost it.

Suarez did better, probably taking a cue from his namesake but it hit the framework just before the referee called time on the first half. Continue reading “BARCELONA THRASH EIBAR 4-0”

Neymar and Barcelona are once again involved in legal issues

Ever since Neymar completed his move from Santos to Barcelona and was unveiled as a new player of the Spanish club on June of 2013, there have been a number of transfer investigations and legal issues that have been taking place involving the transfer of the Brazilian player.

There are a number of reasons of why these investigations have been taking place. One of them is the fact that Barcelona appears to have lied concerning on much money was exactly spent in signing Neymar.

The president of Barcelona Josep Maria Bartomeu initially stated that the price tag of Neymar was €57.1 million but it was later discovered that Barcelona had paid around €86.2 million with the parents of Neymar receiving around half of that amount. Barcelona and Bartomeu were eventually charged with tax fraud. Continue reading “Neymar and Barcelona are once again involved in legal issues”

BARCELONA MIGHT LOSE NEYMAR TO FRENCH GIANTS PSG

Spanish giant outfit, Barcelona might lose one of their most prized players to French side, Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

According to a report from ESPN Brazil, the very talented forward could be set for a summer transfer to the French league as the French champions are in advanced talks with Barça.

PSG are reported to be closing in on a personal agreement with the Brazilian forward. If this happens, PSG will move on to club negotiations, and would be ready to pay as much as €190 million to Barça in order to complete the deal.

Neymar’s own agent, Wagner Ribeiro, revealed that he has been negotiating with PSG officials for over four months, dating back to the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala last January. The report cited the source as credible especially after the report that came out last month claiming that Neymar’s father met with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez. The agent said the meeting was actually with representatives from Les Parisiens. Continue reading “BARCELONA MIGHT LOSE NEYMAR TO FRENCH GIANTS PSG”

Neymar is off from the transfer market

Neymar has recently been linked with Real Madrid as it’s believed that the agent of the Brazilian player has met up with Florentino Perez and the main topic of discussion is the possibility of Real Madrid signing Neymar and taking into consideration the recent poor form of the 24 year old player, reports have emerged stating that a summer transfer move was a realistic outcome but these rumors have been shut down by Barcelona’s director JordiMestre.

These rumors involving Neymar making a summer move away from Barcelona have spread so much that it has forced JordiMestre to step up and deny these claims as the Spanish club is not interested and hasn’t even thought about offloading one of their star strikers.

Barcelona’s JordiMestre denied summer transfer rumors of Neymar being offloaded as he said: “Of course not. That is something that keeps coming up, but I have said it many times we are delighted with Neymar. And Neymar will not be sold. We have not even thought about doing it. If we have to talk, we will talk. I see Neymar very happy at Barca, in Barcelona, very integrated into the team and the city. He is committed to the maximum. I don’t see why he should leave or why we would not renew his contract. It is about both parties’ wishes.” Continue reading “Neymar is off from the transfer market”

Napoli Title chase seems to Slow down

Napoli were realistically seen as the only title challengers for Juventus in the Italian Serie A this season.

However, they now have appeared to have title on a plate for Juventus after losing 3-1 to Udinese in an ill-tempered game. Striker Gonzalo Higuain, who has been a major factor in the club’s push for the league title with more than 25 goals already, took his league tally to 30 goals with a fine effort to equalise after Bruno Fernandes had converted the penalty inside the opening 20 minutes.

However, the game changed dramatically just at half-time when Fernandes restored the advantage for Udinese while Théréau’s goal just before the hour mark helped the club put a lot of distance between them and the title chasing team. Any hope of a comeback came to an end after Higuain received his marching orders for a second yellow card in the 75th minute. Napoli have been unable to score goals in the absence of the former Real Madrid striker and this had a huge consequence on the moral of the team. The loss has allowed Juventus to open a seven-point advantage with seven games left. Despite the sizeable advantage for the reigning champions, Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is refusing to give up on the title. Continue reading “Napoli Title chase seems to Slow down”

There has not been much of a winter break for the Spanish clubs

There has not been much of a winter break for the Spanish clubs – especially Barcelona due to their involvement in the Club World Cup – but this does not seem to affect Luis Enrique and his men.

The manager was recently named as the coach of the year at the FIFA Ballon d’Or awards. Despite many being sceptical about his appointment, Enrique managed to match the achievements of great managers like Pep Guardiola by winning a whole host of trophies in one campaign. Repeating the feat will be a major task, but Barcelona appear to be in a strong position as far as defending the league is concerned.

The club are up against Granada just a few days after the 4-1 win over arch rivals Espanyol. Enrique has called for focus from his players and also not to underestimate the opponents. Three points will be a major necessity for the club after having recently conceded the top spot in the la Liga to Atletico Madrid. The latter have been able to go two points clear by virtue of playing one game more than the Catalan club. Barcelona have recently been strengthened by the arrivals of several young players and Arda Turan. The club have been unable to complete the signing of the former Atletico Madrid star due to the transfer ban, which has now been lifted. In spite of all the rumors, Neymar is not likely to join United anytime soon

Manchester United has scored 2 goals from their opening 3 Premier League matches of the season which is a fairly low amount of goals for a team which is aiming to become the new champions of England and have spent a hefty amount of cash in the summer transfer window.

RadamelFalcao left Old Trafford after not living up to the expectations of fans and Robin van Persie also made his way out of Manchester United, this has left the Premier League club with a deficiency in their attacking department.

Barcelona’s Neymar has turned into a summer target of Manchester United as Louis van Gaal is believed to be interested in signing the Spanish attacker but it will be an extremely player to sign taking into consideration that Neymar has a release clause of €137 million.

Even if Manchester United does splash out that world record fee in signing the Brazilian forward, it seems unlikely that Barcelona are even willing to think about offloading one of their most influential and important players in the entire team.

The agent of Neymar, Wagner Ribeiro stated that all the rumors and reports which have been emerging is nothing more than speculation but nothing is actually real.

Wagner Ribeiro told the media: “There’s nothing. This is speculation in the summer window. The move does not exist. “He has three more years of contract. English newspapers are very speculative. Barcelona never think about selling Neymar and he is very happy there.” Continue reading “In spite of all the rumors, Neymar is not likely to join United anytime soon”
