PSG BRAZILIAN CORE CRUCIAL TO WC BID

The Brazilian core in the Paris St-Germain team is very crucial to the South American giant’s bid for a sixth World Cup title. Former member of the Barcelona trident Neymar, experienced leader and defender Thiago Silva, one of the best Right Backs in the world Dani Alves and then Marquinhos are four Brazilians playing in PSG and expected to feature in Russia 2018.

Back in 2006, Italy – that would now miss the 2018 tournament – won the World Cup using Juventus players majorly. Similarly, Spain used the successful Barcelona team to land the 2010 World Cup while Germany depended on Bayern Munich in the race to the 2014 triumph. Brazil might just depend on this PSG core, aside from a few experienced and talented legs from other sides, to lift the 2018 World Cup.

Neymar wants Cavani out

There are some media reports that Paris Saint Germain new forward Neymar wants EdinsonCavani out of the team.

It appears both players had an argument on the pitch in the match against Caen on who should take a free-kick.

The argument did not remain on the pitch and continued to the dressing room where both players were involved in a heated dispute.

Many reports suggest that the dispute could have ended in a fight if other Paris Saint Germain players did not intervene.

Although both players seem to have calmed down, there are reports now that Neymar wants the club to sell EdinsonCavani. The Brazilian has made it clear to the Paris Saint Germain owners that he will not play in the same team as Cavani and that if they want him to stay, they will have to get rid of the player. NEYMAR IS THE WORLD MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

Barcelona playmaker Neymar has been named the most valuable player in the world, according to a report by CIES Football Observatory.

The 25-year old ranked higher than clubmate Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and Harry Kane.

The research considered several factors such as contract with present club and the status of the club, age, international status, appeal and marketability et al. The study looked at the most desirable players in the top leagues in Europe. Players valued at over £40 million were considered.

Tottenham Hotspur duo of Harry Kane and Dele Alli ranked high on the list due to their impressive results posted for club and country. Alli is the second most valuable, and it is logical considering his age, achievements already and potential. He is estimated to be worth £137 million while his teammate Kane would be around £135 especially if he gets the Three Lions captaincy armband on a permanent basis.

PSG had looked at luring Neymar last year with around £150 million. This report claims the Brazilian is worth around £35 million more than the French giant’s estimation. His teammate Messi is valued at £134 million even though the Argentine is not likely to exit the Nou Camp in his prime. Continue reading “NEYMAR IS THE WORLD MOST VALUABLE PLAYER”

Brazil is back on track and Neymar credits Tite for Brazil’s resurgence

The Brazilian national football side has recently been struggling to perform at their traditional top tier form and this is evident by the fact that they were eliminated from the 2015 edition of the Copa America after losing against Paraguay and failed to qualify for the FIFA Confederations Cup for the first time in over 15 years.

1 year later and the 2016 edition of the Copa America Centenario kicked off and Brazil once again disappointed after losing against Peru. This defeat saw Brazil being eliminated from the tournament in the group stages which is something that had not happened since 1987 and it was ultimately the end of Dunga as the manager was later fired.

On June of 2016, Adenor Leonardo Bacchi was selected as the man to replace Dunga and the resurgence of Brazil has already been felt as Brazil recently secured their qualification spot for the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup after having collected 33 points from their 14 opening qualification matches which is enough to qualify for the approaching worldwide competition. Barca lost something in the process of completing their 4-0 rout over their hosts. Sergio Busquets was pulled put ten minutes into the affair. Gonzalo Escalante forced the player out, leaving him with a terrible ankle injury.

The visitors started the game slowly with Andres Iniesta and Busquets not giving them their usual advantage. Eibar played high pressing football but could not create good chances. Suarez had a chance to ease the pressure when Messi sent the ball but he lost it.

It took a while for them to settle and Dennis broke the deadlock when he scored from 25 yards in the 31st minute. Neymar got his chance but lost it.

Suarez did better, probably taking a cue from his namesake but it hit the framework just before the referee called time on the first half. Continue reading “BARCELONA THRASH EIBAR 4-0”

Brazil is wrong to put pressure on Neymar

Brazil coach Tite has said that it is wrong for Brazil to put all the pressure on Neymar. He stated that it is not fair to believe that Neymar alone can carry the burden of the whole nation.

He said that if Brazil is going to win the Olympics tournament, they will need to do it as a team and not put the pressure on a single person.

This statement followed the declaration by the Brazil Olympic coach RogerioMicale, who said that he likes to be dependent upon Neymar. Micale said that it is a good thing for the Brazil Olympic team to have a player like Neymar in the team and that he said that Neymar should carry the burden alone. He said that the result of the Olympic team would depend on how Neymar perform at the tournament and that he should be ready to give his best in order to help the team win the gold medal.

However, Tite does not seem to agree with RogerioMicale. For him, you need to have a good team spirit and also a good playing style if you want to win a tournament such as the Olympics. He said that it is not good for Neymar to have this amount of pressure and that will definitely affect his performance. He said that if a team wants to win a tournament, they need to count on each player and also on the coach. They are all important, and they all need to learn how to work together.
