Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star Neymar has been one of the standout players in the Champions League this season and he’s in the hunt to win the Golden Boot at the end of the season. PSG were drawn in a tricky Champions League group but they were able to scale through the test thanks to the brilliance of Neymar.
The French giants were drawn in Group G alongside Premier League heavyweights Manchester United, German Bundesliga team RB Leipzig andTurkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir. Neymar scored six goals for PSG as they finished as the group winners. The Brazilian player saved the best for the last with his hattrick against Istanbul Basaksehir in the final game in Group H. Neymar scored three goals as PSG thrashed their Turkish opponents 5-1 at home to secure their spot in the round of 16 of the competition as group winners. Lyon midfielder Thiago Mendes has received death threats for the part he played in the ankle injury that initially left Neymar facing race against time to be fit for the Champions League round of 16 clash with former club Barcelona in two months’ time. However, those fears have been allayed by the medical team at Paris Saint Germain (PSG). It was revealed that Neymar could even be back for the league meeting with Lille on Sunday night.
Neymar suffered an ankle injury at the weekend following a tackle by Thiago Mendes and he had to be stretchered off. Five-time world champions Brazil won’t be without star player Neymar for their tough World Cup qualifier at Uruguay on Tuesday night. The Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker missed out on the Venzeuela clash on Friday and he’s also expected to sit out the biggest test of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for the Brazilians later this week. He picked up a groin problem during the Champions League trip to Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir and has failed to recover in time for any of the Brazil games this month.

This sets to rest all speculation about him moving out on a huge deal to another European club. The grapevine was abuzz with stories about his possible move out of France in the upcoming season. With the Coronavirus pandemic having put high priced deals on the back burner, there weren’t many suitors available for him now. The much-awaited return date for Neymar to Barcelona from Paris Saint-Germain has been confirmed finally by the club. The Catalan club has said that their ex-winger is set to make his return this season. It was 2017 summer when Neymar confirmed that he will be leaving Camp Nou for a world-record fee amount of 222 million Euros. His Spain departure was also not taken well by many Barcelona officials and players and they felt that the winger is being forcefully pushed for the move.
However, despite the bad mood that formed between Neymar and the club when he signed for PSG, space was left behind and that was quite evident. Since then, the Blaugrana have not been able to fill the role that Neymar left to the club in the left-wing position. The signings of Phillipe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele were done by the club as possible replacements, covering up the left space being the main motive. But unfortunately, both the signings failed miserably. And from that point of time, Barcelona is running behind the Brazilian to get him signed once again to get back their form.

Tottenhams talks with Fenerbahçe over the potential signing Vedat Muriqi have been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Kosovan international and has been a prolific scorer at the club since joining in the summer, with Spurs keen to try him out as a potential new backup to leading forward Harry Kane.
Spurs have been hit hard with injuries to strikers this season. Star striker Kane has been out since January and he is not expected to play till later in May. Son also got injured later I’m February leading to the frustration of the manager. The two players will be fortunate to help the club out during the season run in. They will return to play in the later part of the season. The season will run deep into the summer. UEFA have postponed the summer European championship to allow the domestic leagues to reach a conclusion.

The club medical staff do not want to risk the Brazilian following the bruised rib injury he picked up in the league fixture against Montpellier earlier this month. During workout, he was in noticeable pains and the club want him off the fixture, but the player and his entourage are hopeful he would feature in the Tuesday encounter in Germany.
