BARCELONA THRASH EIBAR 4-0

Barcelona defeated opponents Eibar 4-0 in the La Liga last week to keep up the pressure on Real Madrid who seem not as confident after ending their unbeaten run.

The famed MSN Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar did the required. Denis Suarez joined the trio on the score sheet as the Spanish outfit eased to a comfortable win over their opponents.

Barca lost something in the process of completing their 4-0 rout over their hosts. Sergio Busquets was pulled put ten minutes into the affair. Gonzalo Escalante forced the player out, leaving him with a terrible ankle injury.

The visitors started the game slowly with Andres Iniesta and Busquets not giving them their usual advantage. Eibar played high pressing football but could not create good chances. Suarez had a chance to ease the pressure when Messi sent the ball but he lost it.

It took a while for them to settle and Dennis broke the deadlock when he scored from 25 yards in the 31st minute. Neymar got his chance but lost it.

Suarez did better, probably taking a cue from his namesake but it hit the framework just before the referee called time on the first half.

Messi having sent the ball the way of Suarez and Neymar decided to go in himself. He did a one-two with the Uruguayan. Suarez, having learnt his lesson, scored the third of the day before Neymar added the last of the four goals.

The game was quite entertaining with Messi playing his part and that of the missing captain. Barca also showed strength as they played without Gerard Pique and losing others during the crucial game. Messi earned the man of the match award for his display. Barca closed in on the gap at the top, putting pressure on Real Madrid and Sevilla who are eager to unseat them as La Liga champions.
